HEAVYGAZE | METAL HOME Or post hardcore, or shoegaze, or grungegaze or whatever you want to call it.
I think this genre, or just area of music as broad as it is is amazing. I started listening to this whole genre of music through both Deftones, the more metal part of the genre, and bands like Slowdive, actual shoegaze. So this page is devoted to a lot of music but it all sorta has a similar feeling. Some is quiet and mellow, some is full of screams and distortion, but it all sounds really sweet.

Fleshwater - We're Not Here to Be Loved
Favorite Tracks: Baldplate Driver, The Razor's Apple, Foreign
Oh my god I love Fleshwater. This album is so good, I love it. This is a side project of Vein.fm and it mixes their hardcore sound with dreamy walls of sound incredibly well. Really nails that loud distorted shoegaze mixed with hardcore sound that I love.
Also, their vinyl is awesome it only cost $25 so what a steal considering how expensive vinyl is, it has a pattern (I got the yellow with white and black splotches design), it came with a poster, and it sounds great!!

Full of Hell, Nothing - When No Birds Sang
Favorite Tracks: Rose Tinted World, Spend The Grace, Forever Well
This whole album is honestly pretty surprising as a band as extreme as Full of Hell is a stark contrast against Nothing but they pulled it off really well. The project is able to quickly change between brutal and beautiful on a dime, and sometimes it can be both at the same time like on Spend The Grace. I'd recommend this album and both of these bands, they're both extremely skilled at what they do and are awesome.

Deftones - Around the Fur
Favorite Tracks: Be Quiet and Drive, My Own Summer, Dai the Flu
This is like the classic album for this sort of sound. I know that a lot of people think White Pony is their best and stuff but honestly I like this one more. It just has the perfect blend of harsh sounds and beautiful melodies that makes Deftones unique to me. This is probably my favorite album in this area of music, it just can't be beat in my opinion.

Loathe - I Let It In and It Took Everything
Favorite Tracks: Aggresive Evolution, Gored, A Sad Cartoon
These guys remind me a lot of deftones but I think they feel slightly more modern I guess. The clean beautiful parts sound really bright and clear, and the metal screamy parts are very crisp and tight. I do like this band a lot and their music feels very well composed and thought out, being able to switch from aggressive to clear in seconds. For sure a wonderful recommendation if you want more Deftones.
